From the field

Small moments. Stronger teams.

Snapshots of what changes when teams do this kind of work — workshops, programs and the conversations that stayed with me. (Names and details are placeholders for now and will be replaced with real stories as they're cleared to share.)

Team retreat

When 'we have no real conflict' turned out to be the conflict

A leadership team that prided itself on harmony discovered that what they called alignment was mostly avoidance. By the end of two days, they had a list of things they actually disagreed about — and a shared way to talk through them.

Outdoor program

A rope, a tree, and a team that stopped competing

Six engineers used to working alone, suddenly hanging off the same low ropes course. Twenty minutes in, the loudest voice in the room went quiet and started listening. That shift is now how they run their planning meetings.

School workshop

What a class of 15-year-olds taught me about feedback

We were supposed to be doing a 90-minute communication workshop. They steered it into a much harder conversation about how teachers and students actually talk to each other. We finished an hour late. Nobody noticed.

Facilitation

The strategy day that started in the parking lot

A founder team showed up tense after a difficult board meeting. We scrapped the agenda for the first hour and walked. By the time we got back to the room, they were ready to make the decisions they'd been postponing for months.

Youth program

Trust, built 12 metres up a tree

A group of teenagers from very different backgrounds, harnessed together for the first time. By the end of the day, the ones who started furthest apart were the ones belaying each other without thinking about it.

Coaching

Why the best feedback I gave last season was a question

A volleyball player kept missing the same serve. I stopped correcting the technique and asked what was going through her head at the line. We spent ten minutes on that. The serve fixed itself — and so did how the team talked to each other under pressure.
